Six:

Well I have failed as a true Blogger. Wow! Has it been WAY TO LONG!!! However I do have a few good excuses.
1.) My 2-year old ate my computer (we don't have a dog)
2.) We are on dial-up (and that makes watching ice freeze look exciting!)
3.) I've been wondering around the house looking for the computer and just remembered where I put it just today.
4.) Luke re-programmed the computer so now all text is in Swahili.
5.) The Sims took over.

It seems like God has been pushing the fast-forward button this summer. I don't know what happened to July but all of a sudden it is August. And more than that, last Friday was our 5-year anniversary!!! Where did that come from? I promise I am still just some little girl with braids, getting ready to go to Kindergarten, and wearing some UGLY emerald green corduroy pants with some rainbow-striped sweater. But this morning I woke up and POOF!!! I’m a mom and a wife…YIKES!!!

Actually I love both my jobs! Watching someone grow up right in front of my eyes is AMAZING!!! Luke is currently sport crazy…must take after his mom, cause we all know Charlie!!! One minute he is a baseball player, the next a football player. And his favorite mode of transportation? Either running, running or running. Actually he also loves to ride around on his “bike”…tricycle really, but who am I to trash his dreams?

Things just seem to be cookin’ (or as Luke says “coo-ten”) around here. Allen Productions is busier than chickens chasin june-bugs on a hot tin roof! We are currently working on a video for Raines Avenue Christian Center. They are a benevolence/outreach organization here in town that reaches out to members of the community who are trying to get back on their feet again. They provide these members with whatever they need. It is still a small organization and they need quite a bit of publicity to get the program running like they want. We are also in the middle of preparations for Y.E.S. (Youth Encouragement Services) 50th Anniversary next year. So, we have been busy planning, shooting, and meeting with people about the video. We also have a wedding that we will possibly be shooting on the 27th and then another small video (that requires no shooting…YEAH!) by the end of September. So needless to say we are hopping around here. Then amidst all this we are still looking into ways to go back to Arkansas.

Other than that we are getting ready for a garage sale, watching Luke turn into such a sweet and funny little boy, and trying to stay out of the heat, not much is going on!

Luke is learning about jokes. His favorite one goes like this:

LUKE: Hey Mommy…
MOMMY: Hey Luke…
LUKE: What?!?

(as if I asked him a question!)

Yeah and we can’t switch it around on him either…trust me we’ve tried! He also gave his first official zerbert the other day. He asked to see Charlie’s bellybutton and then preceded to zerbert him and then me. He’s done this before but never intentionally. Luke also has a new friend. His name is Landen Tomlinson. We went to school with his parents Jason and Leah. They recently moved here from Hollywood to be closer to family and to move into a more family-friendly environment. Landen is about 9 months younger than Luke but is a hoot to be around. We had them over for dinner last week and the two of them just ran around the house squealing like two little girls. It was so adorable! We are planning on taking a trip to Detroit in a few weeks with them. We are all going up to the wedding of Joe Wells. He is a mutual friend of ours who I dated before dating Charlie, we were also in that wreck together, and he was also in our wedding. We haven’t met his fiancée yet, but we hear nothing but praise about her.

Well, I hope all is well for you in your lives. Please feel free to post your comments! We love to hear from you all!

Love,
Momma A

p.s. the above photo is from Luke's last playdate at church. They had tons of water toys and games as well as popsicles out the wazoo! He had a blast!

correction: I believe Luke's favorite mode of transportation is "my blue car", as evidenced here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/_kir/19588406/ !!!!!
JASON AND LEAH are in Nashville? Wow!!!! All the good people are in N-ville. That's awesome for y'all to have more friends in town now, and for them to have you!
Glad to hear things seem to be well and God is blessing you. It's what I've prayed for since I was down there for y'all!

Hi, I don't know you, but it appears that we have mutual friends. Kirsten is a friend of mine from back home in MI and Jason Tomlinson, Joe Wells, and my brother, Brian Brophy are all good friends. I was wondering if you know if Jason and Leah have a blog site? Thanks!

Andrea
